FPL Lad is an AI assistant for Fantasy Premier League managers. This page explains what we collect when you use it, why, and who we share it with. FPL Lad is operated by Maya Rozenman, an individual based in Israel ("we", "us"), who is the data controller, the person responsible for your data. For anything on this page, email hello@fpl-lad.com.
What we collect
Your FPL Team ID, and the team name, manager name, squad, bank, chips and fixture data we fetch for it from the Fantasy Premier League's public API. This is the same information anyone can already see on FPL's own site with that Team ID. We also store the squad, free transfers and chips you confirm or correct in the app.
If you sign in with Google: your name, email address and profile picture, provided by Google.
If you don't sign in: a random identifier stored in a browser cookie, so your chat history and credit balance persist between visits without an account.
Your conversations with Alfie - every message you send and every reply, together with a technical record of how each reply was produced (which data was looked up and how long it took), which we use to fix problems.
Credit balance and usage - how many credits you have and a record of how they were earned or spent.
Your email address, if you ask for more credits - used to add the credits, tell you when they have landed, and occasionally tell you about a major update to FPL Lad. You can ask us to stop at any time.
If you use the invite feature - your invite code and, for anyone you invite, a record that their sign-up came from your link. When an invite link is opened we record that it was opened and the type of browser that opened it.
How you use the app - which features you use, for example which pop-ups you open and which buttons you press, recorded against your guest or account identifier.
The team search directory
To let people find their team by name, we keep a directory of FPL team names, manager names and Team IDs, collected from the Fantasy Premier League's public league tables. It contains teams whose managers may never have used FPL Lad. We use it only to show search results when someone looks for a team.
If you would like your team removed from this directory, email hello@fpl-lad.com with your Team ID and we will remove it.
How we use it, and why we are allowed to
- To provide FPL Lad to you - answering your questions, running the optimiser, keeping your chat history and credits. This is necessary to deliver the service you asked for.
- To keep it working and improve it - fixing errors, understanding which features are used, preventing abuse of the free credits, and running the team search directory. We rely on our legitimate interest in running a reliable and fair service.
- To email you - only if you gave us your email address, and you can withdraw that at any time.
We do not sell your data, we do not show adverts, and we do not use your conversations to train any AI model.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run FPL Lad, each only for what they need to do their job:
- Supabase - our database and sign-in provider. Stores your account, chat history, squad state and credits.
- Google Cloud- runs the Gemini AI model that writes Alfie's replies (your messages and the relevant parts of your squad are sent to it) and the optimiser that plans transfers and chips. Google also provides Google Sign-In.
- Google Workspace - our email. If you leave your email address to ask for credits, it is sent to our own mailbox.
- Tavily - web search. When Alfie looks up current news, the search terms are sent to Tavily.
- Vercel - hosts this website.
- Fantasy Premier League- we send your Team ID to FPL's public API to fetch your team.
We do not share your data with anyone else, unless the law requires us to.
Where your data is kept
Our database is hosted in Japan, and our other providers process data in the European Union, the United States and other countries. This means your data is likely to be handled outside the country you live in. Where the law requires it, these transfers are covered by the safeguards our providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep your account, chat history, squad state and credit records for as long as you use FPL Lad, and delete them when you ask us to. Requests are completed within 30 days. If FPL Lad closes, we will delete the data we hold.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies. All are needed for FPL Lad to work, and none are used for advertising:
- A guest identifier, if you use FPL Lad without signing in - keeps your chats and credit balance attached to your browser.
- A sign-in session cookie, if you use Google Sign-In - keeps you signed in between visits.
- An invite reference cookie, set for 30 days if you arrive through someone's invite link - lets us credit them if you later sign up.
The app also keeps a few items in your browser's temporary storage so pages load faster. They are cleared when you close the tab.
Usage statistics on our home page
On our home page we count visits, which sections are viewed and which buttons are pressed. This is anonymous: nothing is stored on your device, we do not store your IP address, and these counts cannot be tied to you or to anything you do in the app.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- give you a copy of the data we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete your account and the data attached to it;
- stop or limit how we use your data, including stopping emails;
- remove your team from the team search directory.
Email hello@fpl-lad.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can also complain to the data protection authority in your country (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).
If you use FPL Lad as a guest, clearing your browser cookies disconnects you from your chat history and credit balance, but does not delete them from our systems. Email us if you want them deleted. Your confirmed squad state is tied to your Team ID and returns if you enter the same Team ID again.
Children
FPL Lad is not for children. You must be at least 16 to use it, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you believe a child has used FPL Lad, email us and we will delete their data.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and the date at the top. See also our Terms of Use.
